Easter Closed
On Sunday, April 20th, the dojo will be closed for the Easter Holiday. Please let Sensei know if you normally attend on Fridays and observe Good Friday.
Also if you do not have plans for Easter, please let Sensei know. She is thinking about doing an Easter Hike at Lantern Hill.

CHILDREN & TEEN BELT TESTS
We will host Children/Teen testing. We've switched the night to see if it would be a more successful time. Sometimes, It seems like Sundays are hard for students to attend. You will receive an email if you are eligible. Not all children will test this round, but we've had a few who've been ready and waiting. If people would like to pitch in for pizzas, we can have pizza and social waza together.
Sensei will send an email for those who are eligable. If you are not testing, you are strong encouraged to show up and help with the tests. We grow together.

Gracey Fundraiser
The dojo is selling raffle tickets to support one of our friends. Pamela Gracey of ColourDeCanvas. Her husband was recently diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Prostate cancer. Because of this, his job reduced his hours to part-time, and he lost his health insurance. Pam is always giving back to the community. She's a massive supporter of Safe Futures, the non-profit that the dojo supports.
You don't need to be present to win. The prizes are pretty epic, considering how low the tickets are. The tickets are $5. Sensei has tickets at the dojo!
The top prices are the following:
$500 to Mallove's Jewelry
Cocktail and appetizer party for 20 at Filomena's
Tickets to a major sports event (I believe it's a Boston Game)
A round of golf for Four at Great Neck Golf Club
We often get asked to give. If you find you have $5 to spare please think of this. To me and our dojo it's really important to support each other through easy and hard times.
April 3rd will be there drawing. Shoreline United Networking is hosting the event at Filomenas from 6 pm - 8:30 pm. If you go to the event, it's a $20 charge, but it enters you into a 50/50 raffle. More information is on the flyer. There is no adult class 4/3 because I’d like everyone to attend this event.

IAF Youth Seminar @ New York Aikikai
This September will be the first in a series of Aikido seminars geared towards children. The New York Aikikai was gracious enough to provide ample space to kickstart this series. I’m beyond excited. This will be a catalyst for much growth in our community. My personal belief is that for Aikido to survive and thrive, we all need to work together.
This event is open to all children of any Aikido organization; membership in the International Aikido Federation is not required. This post was made public, so please share this with any Aikido teacher in the Tri-State Area.
*YOU MUST PREREGISTER* A form regarding our waiver and lunch options will follow shortly. (Japanese lunch is provided.)
If you are a teacher attending this event with your students, please email Aldrich Sensei at info@aikidonlc.com
