Another Birthday Bash Seminar?

Don’t mind if we do!

Celebrate Aldrich Sensei’s existence AGAIN!

(Or come for the sake and cake!)

What is this about?

This time, it didn’t start with my birthday. I called Farinato Sensei and asked about an end of winter beginning of spring seminar. Selecting a seminar date is not as easy as you’d think. You want to be mindful of other seminars so we can support each other, and then there’s the weather.

While speaking to Farinato Sensei, he suggested March 22nd. I exclaimed, “Oh, that’s my birthday!” He asked if I wanted to pick a different day, and I replied, “No, it’s fine. I love doing Aikido; what a great way to celebrate it!”

So join us and celebrate!

ABOUT OUR GUESTS

We are honored to feature Ray Farinato Sensei, Chief Instructor of Aikido of Fairfield County. Farinato Sensei is a 7th Dan Shihan who started Aikido in 1973. He has been influenced by many Aikido Shihan, most original students of O’Sensei. Farinato Sensei brings a dynamic martial energy to the mat.

Farinato Sensei holds a special place on my path. I find him inspirational. The way he carries himself on the mat has this sense of poise I hope to one day attain. He also balances keeping a good, kind heart while remaining very martial with technical precision.

Another aspect I admire is his dedication to being a student. One of my earliest memories is training for a full hour of suwari-waza with him alone at a seminar he hosted.

Crystal Aldrich Sensei (Fukushidoin, 4th Dan) is the Birthday Girl, Chief Instructor, and Owner of the dojo hosting this event. I’d say I’ve known Crystal Sensei all my life, but do we ever really know ourselves? My students say I’m a perfect balance of whimsy and seriousness. Notorious for giggling while break falling… what can I say? You’ll have a great time. Check out my bio here.
